    Evelyn's Baby Shower

I always get up and do the exact same thing every single day...some would say I am OCD, but I would say I am actually CDO (in alphabetical order...the way it should be)!!  Seriously though, I probably have a problem, and those of you who know me well understand this problem and love me regardless, but I do have a routine and tend to stick to it no. matter. what.!!!  Anyway, part of this "routine" if you will is that I always get the kids fully dressed before I even begin to do anything with myself.  Basically, I look like death until about 45 minutes till we have to be out the door.  The kitchen gets wiped down with lysol wipes before I even get my face washed.  That is just how it is.  Recently, Evelyn has become my constant side kick, like at every single moment of the day.  This is about the same age that Jebbie started this too, and for some reason, they both seriously think that the moment that I step foot into the shower every day that I just may not come back out after my ummmmm 4 minutes a day that I get to myself, in the shower.  Seriously, that's the only time out of the day I am alone.  So, just like what happened with Jebbie, I started showering  with the door open so that the child who is worried at the time that I may not ever come back can see me, and know that I am still there to be their mommy when I am all done.  So there is Posie, fully dressed, shoes on, bow in, just happy to be able to make sure I am still with her, and I am willing to sacrifice this mostly so I don't have to have 4 minutes of her wailing and screaming,"MAMA" the whole shower.  She was content to sit on the step, and "talk" to me.  I was almost done, and just had to rinse my hair.  My eyes were closed for maybe 15 seconds, and when I opened them up, no Evelyn.  I look down and on the other side of me, there is this tiny little girl, fully clothed, looking up at the shower water raining down on her with her hands up to the water, smiling away!  All I could do was crack up, because it was just so funny!!!!  She didn't seem to have a care or worry at all that she was sopping wet.  So there we were, together....and I wouldn't have it any other way!

    Evelyn's 1st Birthday Party

    S5004558

    May 31, 2008

Today was Evelyn's 1st birthday party!!!  We had so much fun, and are exhausted!!!  She had a blast, and did great, as usual for her always happy self! We had a garden themed first birthday party at Gram and Poppy's house, and she was my little social butterfly, going to everyone around and saying hi!!  Her tutu was adorable, her cake turned out even better than I imagined, and the friends and family were fun as always!!!  We had some major storms last night, and lost power for a few hours, and even had the kids in the basement for a bit around 1 am, but today turned out beautiful.  Extremely windy, but beautiful!!!  I can't believe her first birthday party has come and gone, as the first party to me is one of the most special ever!!  I cannot thank God enough for this amazing year we have had with our little angel, Evelyn Rose.  She is our little darling, and she makes our family so much more. I have said this before, but we didn't know what we were missing until Evie came along into our lives on June 2nd one whole year ago!!   Evelyn, you are such a sweet spirited girl, and the daughter I have always dreamed of having.  This past year has been such an amazing experience, and I will never forget these special times we have shared as a family.  From the moment the dr. lifted you up into my arms, I have been in absolute love.  I will never forget the way you just looked at your daddy and I, with the same exact look you get in your eyes today when you are unsure of something, or scared.  I love the way you interact with your brother and your daddy, and how much love you show to them both.  The way your face lights up when your daddy is around, and the way that all I have to say is, "Jebbie", and you giggle with joy.  Your laugh is so contagious, so sweet and sincere.  Easy, I love the way that you laugh so easily, with such a warm spirit about it.  I want to always remember these baby days and never forget your chubby little legs, and your sweet baby smell.  I want to remember forever the way you give us all kisses with your mouth wide open, and the way you love to dance in the car with Jebbie to, "momma's songs".  I will always remember the way that you look up at me every night after I lay you down in your crib and you smile and wave at me and say bye.  I was so unsure of myself going into this whole experience of adding another child to our family, and now I cannot even begin to imagine what our lives would be like without you.  I pray that the Lord would continue to mold me into the woman he wants me to be, because being a mother my desire for this is even stronger knowing that I always have little eyes watching my every move.  I am just so thankful to have been given the opportunity to be Jebbie and your mom.  I pray that you will come to know the Lord, and that you will experience Him in your life.  I pray that you will follow the path for your life that the Lord has for you to take, and that you will take it with Him leading you.  Every thing I do as a mother is to prepare you for your life when you are older.  As difficult as that is to think, that is the task we have been given.  Every milestone you make is another step away from mommy and daddy and onto independence.  It is comforting to know that you will always have the Lord with you in your life, and always know that He is your Strength and your Song.  As hard as it is for me to see you grow up into the little toddler girl you are quickly becoming, I can't wait to teach you and watch you experience so much more.  In my heart, you will always be my precious little girl, with that ear to ear grin, always so happy to go along with the flow of things.

Proverbs 22:6  "Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it."

Happy birthday Rosie Posie.  We love you so much, more than you could even imagine!!!  We are looking forward to many more years of birthdays together!

                                     S5004164

We got struck with the most horrible stomach virus ever known to mankind on Wednesday, and it lasted well into Sunday...All 4 of us at the same time.  Not fun...I could give a very entertaining blog about this whole ordeal, but I have decided I am so over it that I don't even want to ever remember any of it.  Seriously!  We are in the trenches of potty training full force now...no more diapers...pullups and unnawears.  This is really hard, but I know we will be glad when it is over with.  Any suggestions, feel free to drop me a note!  Evie took 3-4 steps multiple times on Saturday, has her 4th tooth in, is doing baby sign language, and is being hilarious.  Much more to come, I am trying to play catch up from being so sick.  After this past week, I have decided I never want to do laundry again.....well, I gotta go get the laundry out of the dryer.  That lasted long, huh!  I've got some great pics to put on from my brother's birthday, and some other fun pics coming soon.  God Bless!!!  Abi
